I am a boy mom, housewife and fashionista. Welcome to my fashion blog! I am a mom with a mom bod who loves fashion. Here I will share in's and out of fashion from my point of view. Since I was a little girl I have always loved fashion. Fashion to me is art. It's how I express myself. I love to keep updated on trends but I tend to wear whatever the heck I want when I want! Fashion has no rules or dates if you ask me, just trends Lost in mom world So you're a mom now and now everything changed. Your priorities, body, mindset, social life, and views about this world. With so many changes the last thing you may be worried about is your style, right now your priority is just taking a shower and fitting into your clothes. A few years pass and now you don't know what is appropriate to wear and what is not. You don't want to start dressing like a grandma and you don't want to dress like a teen. So now what? Leggings and t-shirts are your best friend although you have a closet full of clothes but you can't ever seem to find anything to wear. You buy and buy and still have nothing to wear. The problem is not that you don't have enough clothes, the problem is you do not know how to create outfits with what you have. well that's where Restyled Runway comes in. With my passion for fashion I will help create style boxes so that you will always have something to wear. I too have struggled with fashion especially since now I have a new body that is not as flattering as my 20 year old body. Also I don't have that 20 something fashion budget. I remember I use to spend $80 on a skirt to go clubbing in. Now I look to spend that on an entire wardrobe lol. I attended a few fashion colleges one of which is F.I.D.M in Las Angeles. I learned a lot in school but one thing never sat right with me and that was the over consumption and the pollution that comes with fashion. So, now as a environmental conscious mama who loves fashion, I am looking into styling the world in a sustainably fashion way. I am searching far and wide to bring you ethical fashion. Artisan fashion is one way to help the world, currently I am focusing on purchasing clothes and accessories from Central and Southern America. I purchase from people who are treated with love and respect with a decent wage, and I started with my native country, El Salvador. Make it last.” —Vivienne Westwood, fashion designer (The Guardian Live Interview 2014) 2. “Fast fashion is like fast food. After the sugar rush it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.” —Livia Firth, ethical fashion advocate and founder of sustainable fashion consultancy Eco-Age TIME FOR CHANGE The time for change is now! The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of humanity's carbon emissions and that number is increasing at an alarming rate. It takes 2,000 gallons of water to produce a single pair of jeans and 700 gallons to make a shirt. Landfills are full of clothes and people just keep throwing away great clothing and buying more. Fast fashion is not meant to last, you'll pay a lot in the long run because the quality just isn't there. So I encourage you to shop sustainably and ethically. Get Inspired As parents we can start helping this earth by being conscious on where and how we spend our money. I hope you get inspired with out lookbook on how to restyle your clothes versus throwing it away. Remember that kindness and love is always trending.
